Actor Macaulay Culkin recently reprised his role in the movie Home Alone, 25 years on with a creepy, dark humor short film. Now one of the guys he "terrorized" as a kid has responded.
The Inquisitr reported the story of how Macaulay Culkin featured in the first episode of Jack Dishel's new NSFW video series, :DRYVRS, a dark comedy showthat parodies Uber and Lyft driving experiences.
In that short video, Culkin, starring as Kevin McAllister, the unlucky kid who got left alone at home not once, but TWICE by his parents, reprises the role - clearly showing the psychological damage caused by his experiences. See the viral video here:
Now Daniel Stern, who played one of the thieves in the cult classic, Home Alone, had reprised HIS role too.
In the homemade video, included below, Stern begs for help, telling viewers, "I saw it on the Internet! The kid is coming to get us."
Speaking of the bloodthirsty actions by Culkin's character in the :DRYVRS episode, Stern adds that Culkin's character, Kevin, is seeking revenge against him and his Wet Bandit partner, saying, "He's coming for all of the home invaders and
he's gonna come get us."
With Home Alone screened on TV every Christmas, no doubt the parodies will continue! Watch Stern in the video below.
You might think people who use the "F" word on a regular basis are
lacking in a broader vocabulary to use, however science has now proved
this to be wrong.
According to a scientific study, people who curse a
lot actually have a bigger vocabulary than those who don't.
If you
tend to curse a lot, someone, somewhere along the way may have accused
you of being less intelligent, but that has turned out to be basically
incorrect. If you use all the wrong and taboo words, inserting the "F"
word and other expletives into your conversation on a regular basis, a
new study has shown you are likely to have a much richer vocabulary than
those who don't utter a foul phrase.
Stephen Fry once memorably said,
"The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a
lack of education or a lack of verbal interest is just f*cking lunatic." Hear his words of wisdom in the video included at the end of this article.
And
it turns out he is right. Anyone with a good repertoire of curse words
isn't lacking in better words to express themselves and usually has a
far broader vocabulary.
A study was run by psychologists Kristin
Jay and Timothy Jay of Marist College and the Massachusetts College of
Liberal Arts and came up with the hypothesis that people with a healthy
selection of curse words on hand are actually more likely to have a
great overall language fluency available to them too.
According to the New York Daily News,
in the first part of their study, the team got together 43
participants, consisting of 30 women and 13 men aged between 18 and 22
years. They asked the participants to rattle off as many curse words as they could in 60 seconds.
The
next part of the test saw the participants reciting as many animal
names as they could think of in 60 seconds. The researchers then used
the animal names recited by each person as an indication of their
overall vocabulary and interest in language.
Participants were
allowed to use any normal American English curse word or offensive
phrase and the group ended up with a total of 533 curse words and
phrases, including some more obscure and flowery phrases like "ass
pirate" and "cum dumpster."
The people involved in the study were
also submitted to some standardized verbal fluency tests, or FAS tasks
as they are known. These are a kind of psychological test where
participants are required to say as many words from a particular
category as possible within a given space of time (usually 60 seconds),
much like the curse words test.
The researchers ran a second
experiment in which another 49 participants, consisting of 34 women and
15 men this time, aged between 18 and 22 years. In a similar way, the
group was asked to write down as many curse words and animal names as
they could, starting with the letter "A." There were also FAS tasks to
perform to assess the participants overall language fluency.
The results of the research have been published in the journal Language Sciences and titled: "Taboo word fluency and knowledge of slurs and general pejoratives: deconstructing the poverty-of-vocabulary myth."
The study showed that the more expressive curse
words were generated at a higher rate than mere slurs and that there
was very little difference between what the male and female participants
came up with.
The report read: "[C]onsistent with findings that
do not show a sex difference in taboo lexicon size, no overall sex
difference in taboo word generation was obtained." So it seems the
ladies can keep up quite nicely with the men.
The research also
found that a "voluminous taboo lexicon may better be considered an
indicator of healthy verbal abilities rather than a cover for their
deficiencies."
"Speakers who use taboo words
understand their general expressive content as well as nuanced
distinctions that must be drawn to use slurs appropriately. The ability
to make nuanced distinctions indicates the presence of more rather than
less linguistic knowledge, as implied by the POV [Poverty of Vocabulary]
view."
So there you go, don't hold back and just
curse away. Admittedly the study did use a small sample size with a
limited age group involved, so more research into cursing as related to
vocabulary is probably required to fully confirm the results.
Besides
the larger vocabulary, according to a recent tweet -- and while not
officially confirmed -- it turns out cursing could even help when
inflicted with pain. What is the first word that comes to your mouth if
you, for instance, accidentally hit your thumb with a hammer?
Cursing when in pain releases Enkephalin, which raises your pain tolerance causing you to hurt less.

While the weather was pretty chilly in Barcelona over the weekend, this didn't stop anti-leather protesters from stripping off and splashing themselves with fake blood.

Almost 200 people braved the weather and stripped off their clothing, splashing themselves with fake blood this weekend in a protest against the use of animal skins and fur in clothing.
According to Francisco
Vásquez Neira, the president of AnimaNaturalis International, which
staged the protest, every year the demonstration is betting bigger and bigger.
"Thanks to
social media, we are getting more attention than ever."
On the group's website they state, "For the tenth consecutive year, more than a hundred
people from around Spain and across the world gathered in Barcelona to
brave the cold winter temperatures and get naked to protest against the
use of animal skin."
As per the website for AnimaNaturalis, the demonstrators lay one on top of the other in the protest "like the bodies of the
dead animals once they have been skinned."
The protesters displayed signs reading, "How many lives just for a coat?" in English, Spanish and Catalan.
Aída Gascón the head of
AnimaNaturalis in Spain told The Local, "Leather garments have been wrongly associated with luxury and fashion
and this is the way of thinking that must change because if there is no
demand, there will be no supply."

This simple and gentle hold can almost immediately calm a crying baby and in the process soothe your stretched nerves. Watch him perform the hold on several babies in the video below.
A breakdown of the hold is as follows:
Gently fold the arms across the chest, one by one.
Secure the arms gently with one hand.
With the other hand, securely grasp the baby's butt.
Rock or gyrate the baby at a 45 degree angle.
Simple as that - baby is now calm. It's a pleasure -- you can thank me by sharing this with other needy parents! :)
While an international manhunt is underway for Salah Abdeslam, one of the jihadists involved in the Paris terror attacks, it turns out he was stopped by Spanish police just weeks prior to the attacks.
As reported in the Catalan media, Abdeslam was stopped by traffic police and breathalyzed during a roadside check outside Figueres in Catalonia, close to the French border.
Reportedly the 26-year-old, who is of Belgian birth and French nationality, failed the breathalyzer test and was arrested for driving over the legal alcohol limit. Abdeslam's car was impounded, but was released several days later when he presented his documents and paid a fine.
Neither the Catalan regional police force, Mossos d’Esquadra, nor Spain’s interior ministry have confirmed the incident, but the Catalan newspaper says it has sources who confirmed Abdeslam was held. They reportedly recognized him from the police appeal poster put out after the Paris terror attacks.
The international manhunt for Salah Abdelslam was launched Sunday. He is one of three brothers who are believed to have been involved in the brutal and bloody attacks on Friday November 13, that claimed 130 lives in various venues in Paris.
During October, the Patreon website was hacked and a whole load of information was downloaded by the nasty little hackers involved. Now the blackmailers have decided to get in touch?
We were reassured by Patreon at the time of the hack that everything was OK and it was suggested that we change our password - sort of like closing the barn door after the horse has escaped, but anyway, I did.
Now more than a month later a nasty little blackmailing email arrives in my inbox, reading as follows:
----- Original Message ----- From: sharingservices@aol.com To: xxxxxx@yahoo.com ; xxxxx@ceafoundation.org ; xxxx@gmail.com Sent: Saturday, November 21, 2015 1:54 PM Subject: Mia recommends - I will leak your identity
Unfortunately your data was leaked in the recent hacking of the Patreon web site and I now have your information. I have your tax id, tax forms, SSN, DOB, Name, Address, Credit card details and more sensitive data. Now, I can go ahead and leak your details online which would damage your credit score like hell and would create a lot of problems for you.
If you would like to prevent me from doing this then you need to send 1 bitcoin to the following BTC address.
You can buy bitcoins using online exchanges easily. The bitcoin address is unique to you. Sending bitcoin takes take, so you better get started right now, you have 48 hours in total.
So I immediately went online and visited the Patreon site. No mention of any blackmail emails at that stage, so maybe I was the first? Anyway, I left a message in the help section of the site and have now finally received an email back. Apparently they have since heard from a lot of angry people, who also got the blackmail email.
Below is their response. Basically we must just ignore the email - don't send any bitcoin to this nasty little character, whatever you do. Let's face it, he bears no relation to Mr Robot. If anyone knows how to report the little bastard to Bitcoin, please go ahead!

In a spectacular display to promote the latest 007 movie Spectre, a veritable cavalcade of James Bond cars paraded down the Champs Elysée and past the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Sunday.
There were almost 20 cars in the parade from the Sunbeam Alpine that starred in the 1962 Dr No film, to the Aston Martin DB10 (pictured above) driven by 007 in the James Bond movie Goldfinger right through to the newer edition to be driven by James Bond in Spectre.
After standing on display at the Arc de Triomphe in the heart of the
French capital, they slowly and elegantly made their way down the
Champs Elysée, passing the Eiffel Tower on Sunday.
One car that was missing from the parade was the famous submarine car from the 1977 James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me.
The wonderfully iconic James Bond cars made a spectacular sight in Paris, as can be seen from the video at the end of this article.
The newest addition to the 007 movies, Spectre, will be released in the UK on October 26 and in the US on November 6, with Daniel Craig in his last starring role as the iconic "Bond... James Bond."
A Norwegian photographer captured the most amazing footage of a group of humpback whales, playing under the Northern Lights off the coast of Kvaløya (Whale Island) near the city of Tromsø.
Harald Albrigtsen works as a photographer for the Norwegian state broadcaster NRK and often spends time capturing the Northern Lights on film in his home town of Tromsø.
One night he really got particularly lucky as he came across a group of humpback whales, playing in the light of the Aurora Borealis. He told NRK about the experience.
"On my journey, I suddenly came across a group of humpback whales that
were playing in the Northern Lights. I went back the next day to see if I
could come closer." "After a few hours I had almost given up, but then they showed up again."
According to the Local, Albrigtsen used a new Sony A7 camera, which can capture images in extremely low light conditions, allowing him to capture the Northern Lights while also shooting moving objects.
"Many may be getting tired of standard Northern Lights photography.
Now, there is an opportunity to capture living beings under the Northern
Lights. The possibilities for creating new images are greater."
"It was a great feeling when I saw that I had managed to capture the
whales under the Northern Lights for two days in a row. I didn't even
know if they were in focus."
Watch the amazing footage in the video included below - you can even hear the whales as they play.
Video footage of a young Steven Spielberg is currently doing the rounds, showing his disappointment at not being nominated as Best Director for the popular movie Jaws.
We see him gathered with his friends, watching the 1976 Oscar nominations on TV. While at the beginning of the video, Spielberg is very confident of the movie sweeping the Oscar nominations, it seems this was not to be.
You can see his reaction on getting the news that Jaws, despite dominating the box office that year, didn't do so well. With huge disappointment he exclaims, “I got beaten out by Fellini!”
There's a video doing the rounds on YouTube which appears to be marketing a brand new magic toy for ladies — the Dildo Selfie Stick.
However, while the video, as said, appears to be marketing the Dildo Selfie Stick, there are no links offered where you can purchase the snazzy gadget and thus no way for anyone to buy one of the darn things.
What the Dildo Selfie Stick purports to do is to allow a woman to pleasure herself, using either the standard dildo attachment or any one of her own personal toys, and at the magic moment, snap a selfie of their "O face."
The so-called female entrepreneur that came up with the idea does have a website, which points back to the same darn YouTube video, and also a Twitter handle.
So, while people online get all hot and flustered, imagining how they could use the Dildo Selfie Stick, and many think its the best idea ever, it looks like for the moment it is merely a prank.
It is also causing confusion among YouTube members commenting on the video, with one poor guy saying, "Instructions not clear enough, dildo stuck in toaster" and another commenting enthusiastically, "better than iPhone 6s."
A writer at Maxim Man, obviously seeing the potential, suggests that everyone tweet her like crazy until she is forced to actually produce the product — as he says, "The world needs O face selfies."
Until then, to put it like the lady does, "It's the first selfie stick which allows you to, well, stick it."
It seems Bangladesh has a very serious rat problem. A farmer in Bangladesh has now been given an award as the
national champion rat killer, after he and his team killed over 160,000 rats in
the last 12 months.
Bangladesh officials announced Thursday that farmer Abdul
Khaleq Mirbohor has been awarded 20,000 Bangladeshi taka (around $250) as a
prize for getting rid of 161,200 rats in one year, a princely sum for a farmer
in the country.
This is part of a nationwide campaign launched to protect grain
from the ever hungry rodents.
Abul Kalam Azad is head of the Bangladesh government’s plant
protection unit and he spoke to the media about the award.
“Mr Mirbohor is a passionate rat killer. During the
ceremony, he told the dignitaries that nothing gives him pleasure (more) than
killing grain-eating rodents,”
As for Mirbohor’s team, he hires mostly women volunteers to kill the rats in the paddy and wheat fields, retaining their tails as
proof of the kill. The tails are then submitted to the regional agriculture
office to be counted.
The 55-year-old farmer told AFP that he has been killing
rats since 1996 and that he loves killing them.
“They are the enemy of the country and people. They devour
grains, ground nuts and spread diseases.”
Reportedly the rodents destroy between 1.5 million to 2
million of tons of food each year in Bangladesh. According to government
officials, in total farmers have killed almost 13 million rodents over the last year,
saving food worth $25 million.
One government official, Borhan Uddin, said Mirbohor was
“obsessed” with killing the rats and that his fellow villagers call him mad. “He
is like a Pied Piper of Hamelin,” he added.
According to Zimbabwe's National Wildlife Agency, suspected poachers have used cyanide to kill 14 elephants in Hwange National Park and elsewhere in the country since September 26.
Hwange, from where Zimbabwe's famous lion Cecil was lured and killed by an American dentist in July, is home to around 53,000 elephants.
According to Caroline Washaya-Moyo of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, six elephants were killed on September 26 in Hwange National Park and their tusks were removed. Later, on October 2, game rangers found the carcasses of a further five elephants, killed after poachers had mixed cyanide with coarse salt and maize cobs to use as bait to poison the animals.
Washaya-Moyo said a further three elephants in a Kariba game park in the north had been poisoned using oranges laced with cyanide, bringing the total of elephants killed to 14. She added that so far no arrests have been made in any of the cases and that investigations are still ongoing.
Reportedly cyanide is widely used in the mining industry in Zimbabwe and thus is relatively easy to obtain. While poachers have used rifles and traps in the past to poach elephants in Zimbabwe, they apparently started using cyanide in 2013.
IOL quotes elephant conservation groups as stating that in 2013 as many as 300 elephants were poisoned at salt pans laced with cyanide, but the Zimbabwe government disputes that figure, saying only a few dozen animals had been killed.
Times Live reports that vultures, feeding on the elephants carcasses, were also poisoned and killed by the cyanide. According to that report, some of the elephants' carcasses still had their tusks intact, possibly indicating that poachers had not yet tracked down the dead animals.

As everyone most probably knows, water has been discovered on the red planet of Mars. Before that even happened, humans started preparing for the possibility of living there.
The video below talks about six future crew members of a possible NASA mission to Mars, who are spending up to 12 months confined in a dome located in a Mars-like landscape in Mauna Kea, Hawaii. The purpose of the experiment is to find out how people react to each other in such close, confined surroundings, similar to what would be experienced on Mars.

In probably every city in the world, certain parking spaces are reserved for disabled people and are clearly marked to that end.
However in many countries, drivers, too lazy to drive around looking
for a free parking space, illegally use the disabled parking spots.
It turns out that over 30 percent of Russian drivers are guilty of taking disabled parking spaces and ignoring the signs on the ground.
A Russian non-profit organization called Dislife has come up with the perfect way to put a stop to the practice. They have installed holographic projections of a real disabled person that pop up every time a driver with no disabled sticker on their car tries to take the spot.
Watch the new holographic deterrent in the video below. This is a great idea to take up worldwide!
Joshua Vernon Maddux, 18, went missing in May 2008, but the mystery has
finally been solved after his remains have been found in the chimney of a
Woodland Park cabin.
The decomposed remains were found on August 7 in the chimney of a cabin that was about to be demolished in the Wildernest development near Rampart Range and Kelley’s roads in Woodland Park.
According to Chuck Murphy, owner of Murphy Constructors, the cabin was purchased by his parents 60 years ago. It was apparently originally the homestead of the Thunderhead Ranch, which was famous in the past for illegal gambling and other activities.
Murphy said his brother lived in the cabin for some years before making it into a rental and it has been standing empty for around 10 years. He said he would occasionally go to the cabin to check on it and eventually noticed there was a bad smell. Recently the cabin was up to be demolished, as part of a new development of 32 single-family homes but once the body was found, demolition had to be halted until the coroner had completed his investigation.
At a news conference Tuesday, Teller County Coroner Al Born said they used dental records to identify the body and that it was, indeed, Joshua Vernon Maddux. According to Born there was no sign of trauma to the body or foul play, saying it appears that Maddux voluntarily tried to gain access to the cabin via the chimney.
He said Maddux was a “tall, skinny kid” and was probably attempting to shimmy down the chimney, but ended up getting stuck and unable to get help. Reportedly there is a wood-burning insert in the fireplace inside the cabin, which makes it impossible to exit the chimney at the bottom.
The Gazette writes that an article written by Joshua’s sister, Kate Maddux, was published in the News of Woodland Park website Friday, describing Joshua as a "highly intelligent, kind, creative person and a talented musician.”
Kate Maddux continued in the article by saying ever since Josh went missing at the age of 18, they have assumed he may have decided to leave town to start a new life. Kate said she always chose to believe that this was the case, but that she always expected Joshua to return home to their father’s house at any time.

Just in case you think TV hosts actually care about what you are saying, this woman had no idea her guest on HLN was talking about Edward Scissorhands and not Edward Snowden, even though he repeatedly said the name.
The show was a segment about Edward Snowden joining Twitter and the interviewee was "Snowden Supporter" Jon Hendren. Edward Scissorhands is a character from the Tim Burton film.
It was definitely not this child's time to go. A young boy in the Crimean capital of Simferopol narrowly escaped death by taking just a small step, seconds before a car arrives on the scene, crashing into the spot he had just vacated.
It was all captured on CCTV as it happened last Friday at 7.26am local time. In the video, we see a boy, standing on the pavement leaning on some railings, obviously bored and kicking at the paving stones. With his backpack on his back, he is possibly waiting for someone to collect him to take him to school.
Just at the moment he decides to move and step aside, a speeding BMW appears, obviously out of control and crashes into the railing at the exact position the boy had previously occupied. The boy jumps in shock (and most probably huge relief) while the car just stands there, its lights blinking. Watch the short video below.
