If you think you had a bad Valentine's Day, think again. A male elephant at a wildlife reserve in southern China just lost out on love and went on a wild rampage.
According to officials in the government of the Xishuangbanna prefecture, another male elephant beat him to the affections of a wanted female, making him "moody." When it comes to an elephant that big, "moody" can be a real problem.
The spurned elephant left the wildlife reserve and proceeded to knock around at least 15 cars, damaging 12 of them. He stuck his tusks through the open window of one car and pushed it into the roadway, then leaned on the passenger side, crushing it. Fortunately none of the tourists were injured in his attack on the cars and most were thrilled to experience it.
A government spokesman said, "The tourists were quite excited to see a real wild elephant, and they were using their cellphones to take photos and videos."
"Even the owners of some damaged cars found the experience to be very interesting."
However on the video below, shouts can be heard which sound a little more fearful than thrilled.
Apparently the love-lorn elephant's rampage went on for some 20 minutes before he strolled back into the wildlife reserve and the government says they will compensate car owners for any damage suffered. Enjoy the video below.
